I placed the ISP Decimator 2 at the beginning of my effects loop with the delay, reverb, and last is my volume pedal. Make sure to dial in the Decimator so it does not cut out your clean tone. This worked great for me so when playing phrases where you have your gain on and have silent spaces the Decimator kicks in to remove his and noise and does not suck any tone at all.
When real estate is critical the DECI-MATE G is the answer. ISP Technologies introduces the Decimator II™, second generation of the Decimator Noise reduction. The Decimator II includes improved performance and innovations so unique that it is covered under two new patents pending for these new innovative improvements.

A Micro-sized Decimator with Superior Tracking. Noise is the enemy. It murders your tone, muddles your playing, and pegs you as a rank amateur. That's why you need the ISP Technologies DECI-MATE. It's an effective way to clean up your guitar rig, and thanks to its small footprint, it won't gobble up pedalboard real estate. ISP Technologies introduces the new DECI-MATE™ Micro Decimator pedal.

“This ISP Decimator may be the most effective noise reduction pedal on the market today. It’s operation is completely transparent and it’s operation is totally flawless. Once you turn it on, you’ll never turn it off!”
The Decimator G String provides a totally independent channel of sound reduction that can be inserted into a series effects loop or after a preamp section with the advantage of having the Decimator level detectors track the guitar signal directly. Decimator Ups the Ante ISP's Decimator II noise gate guitar pedal ups the ante over the original Decimator design to give you even better noise reduction.

EQ etc)-->NS-2 loop return-->NS-2 ouput--> (delay/chorus pedals what is the difference between the isp decimator noise gate and the isp G string noise gate? i just can't figure it out, noobish, i know, sorry thanks Decimator X technology offers superior performance. If you play through a high-gain amp, then noise reduction solutions can be frustrating. Typical noise gates chop off your notes, while more sophisticated digital options can compromise your tone.
